Founder and Director
Gemma Ryan is the founder of The Little iP Company. She is dual qualified as a Solicitor (non-practising) and Chartered Trade Mark Attorney. Having qualified as a Solicitor in 2010 and as a Trade Mark Attorney in 2015, Gemma brings a wealth of experience to the legal sector.
Since 2013, she has specialised in intellectual property law, advising on everything from trade mark and design applications to complex infringement disputes. After years in the corporate world, Gemma felt there had to be a more personal way to support businesses with brand protection. In 2022, she took the leap and launched The Little iP Company—combining deep expertise with a more human, accessible approach to IP law.
Gemma’s mission is to make legal services straightforward and approachable, offering clear, commercial advice that helps businesses of all sizes thrive. She works closely with clients, from start-ups to established brands, and is proud to build long-term relationships as a trusted extension of their team. While IP is a serious matter, Gemma believes the process should feel simple, supportive, and focused on what matters: your brand.
Outside of work, Gemma swaps trade marks for parenting negotiations, refereeing between her two energetic boys or playing taxi driver to their sports clubs. When she gets time for herself, she loves walking in the Rutland countryside with her whippet, Delilah, or swimming at Rutland Water.
